Hello,

I am interested in building a trivia section onto my site, but there is one feature that I would like to include in it to make it a little better.

I want to have it so the person who starts the trivia can enter in their name, and it racks up a score, which is saved onto a top ten list of the highest scores.

I've found providers who will do this for you (alxnet.com) but I would like to be able to code it myself and have the whole thing running off my site.

Where should I go to find out how to go about coding this?  I don't really know much when it comes to Java scripting, if anyone knows of a site that has a walkthrough of how to do this, that would be awesome.

Any help is appreciated

As well, if anyone knows of a site which has a walkthrough of coding a survey which saves the information to my server space, that would be cool too.

The one I have right now (createsurvey.com) is really bad, you can only have 20 responses at one time, and it takes forever to load!

PS> I do have paid service, I dont know if I have access to the necessary stuff to do this or not?!

I keep thinking of more things I wanted to put on my site.  But they're all related (I think)

I was planning on doing a voting section, where you can vote a movie or CD out of 5 or 10 or something like that..  I have no clue how to save small bits of information.

I'm sure its quite simple.

This is a great tool.  Cheers

try learning asp or php for it. you'll probably need a paid host to put the code up, you'll need this cause you'll have to store it in a database or something

cgi could also do what you're wanting to do...however, I think you're better off searching for a cgi script to do the job.  Because, we could do it, but there's no reason to reinvent the wheel when you have google.
