HTML 5 is the next generation of HTML, following HTML 4 and a side trip into XHTML land. It goes back to HTML 4 in relaxing some syntactical requirements that XHTML had imposed, and adds a number of new tags for more semantic markup (e.g., rather than <div class="header"> you can have <header>). There's much more support for multimedia type constructs built into HTML 5, rather than having to use Third Party applications such as Flash.

HTML5 is a new version of HTML 4.01 and XHTML 1.0 focusing on the needs of Web application developers. It's actually three kinds of code: HTML, which provides the structure; Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), which takes care of presentation; and JavaScript, which makes thing happen.

HTML5 is making the web platform more powerful in a number of different areas. Try learning by major HTML5 feature groups. HTML5 is a markup language for structuring and presenting content for the World Wide Web and a core technology of the Internet. It is the fifth revision of the HTML standard.

HTML5 is the latest version of HTML. HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language which is basically used for making the webpages. Now days most of the websites are based on HTML5. There are few benefits in HTML5 like Mobile Compatibility, Cross Browser Support, etc...

HTML5 is a markup language used for structuring and presenting content for the World Wide Web and a core technology of the Internet. It is the fifth revision of the HTML standard (created in 1990 and standardized as HTML 4 as of 1997) and, as of December 2012, is a candidate recommendation of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Its core aims have been to improve the language with support for the latest multimedia while keeping it easily readable by humans and consistently understood by computers and devices (web browsers, parsers, etc.). HTML5 is intended to subsume not only HTML 4, but also XHTML 1 and DOM Level 2 HTML.

HTML5 is the newest hyper text markup language for websites from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The first draft was made public in 2008, but not much happened until 2011. In 2011, HTML5 was released and people started writing about it and using it, but the support in different browsers was still poor. Today all major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, IE) offer HTML5 support, therefore the newest HTML technology can be used at its best today.
