I agree with Baz on this one.For me the important is to get a site up and running fast.Best way to do that is to use a wysiwyg editor likeFronpage (express which is free comes with win 98) Dreamweawer or something similar.Knowing code is necessary only if you need complete control or if you`re an advanced designer.
Sure it can be fun knowing code for other reasons too but my point is that site making is not about buying books and reading them for weeks in the first place.Itīs simply not necessary.
Myself i started my site 8 months ago when i saw an offer for free space here at Lunarpages. To begin with i installed Front page express from win 98 and started fiddling around. In about two three weeks i had a site up and running.Since then i have learned a lot (itīs even possible to read what i`ve writtenhe he)much of it from in here and from other places. To me its the process of work that gives me the most knowledge.
Sometimes i find myself checking the code on my pages to see if the script i just added is in the right place and sometimes i do corrections direct in the code.So maybe in a couple of years iīll know at least some html by trial and error hehe.....
Just beginning to understand (i think) what frames are and slowly things fall into place.
Just do your site, add some graphics and speak your mind and have fun!.The rest will come by itself.Being a newbie will permitt you to make mistakes that experienced people will not do.Mistakes that may turn out to be good for your site in the end.
