Working on some new content for one of the sub-domains on my domain hosted on NONA, current apache install is listed as 1.3.42.

I'm looking at some CMS solutions that require 2.2+, is the plan to upgrade all shared servers to 2.2? and if so, what is the general timeframe for the upgrade? just trying to make decisions about packages to use and make some plans.

Hello,

Upgrading Apache on the current server is not possible however we can surely move you to a server that supports 2.2 if you require it. Just drop an email to our support or open a ticket at : https://support.lunarpages.com/ and we will move your account to a supporting machine.  Thumbs Up

Marian,

Thanks for the quick reply, ok good to know that there is an option, I might not even need it depending on the route I take.. I'll cut a support ticket if I do, thanks again.. Thumbs Up

Hello,

Compared to Apache 1.3, release 2.x contains many additional optimizations to increase throughput and scalability. There are many features that come with 2.x and all of them are listed here :

- http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/new_features_2_0.html

Additionally all the benchmarks show better performance on Apache 2 than on Apache 1.3 so sooner or later everyone will get the new version  Hiya
