Hi,
Two people been making website for past few days. (cause i just bought the hosting here last week after a long search) When we checked the

bandwidth usage yesterday, it was about 3 mb. But when we checked the

bandwidth usage today, it became over 20 mb. We were wondering if the is

correct? We were uploading few files (less than 1 mb total mainly html and image files) only. And no one knows about this site but us.

If this usage rate is correct, I think we will have a serious problem. If only

two people were visiting site and used bandwidth about 20 mb,

then it will be more than 60gb if couple thousands people visit one day.

Since I have 50~60k visitors per day on my old site.

I'd really like to know if this bandwidth usage is correct and how do we know for sure?

thanks

It sounds wrong to me...

I'm not sure what is going on there!

Someone else will reply to this and let you know, but at the moment, I wouldn't worry.

I wouldn't be too terribly concerned, as the statistics do quirk sometimes.  Just to be sure, you can email support@lunarpages.com and let them know.  They'll take care of it and get back to you.  If you get 50-60K visitors a day, you would do pretty well with my  affiliate program.

They got back to me and said it was correct.
Well, what can I say ..
However, i can't get it out of my head though.
How come two people could made 20 mb traffic with
simple html work for few hours...

Only God know why...

Take a look in your statistics section in the control panel, and have a look to see if any other sites are linking to your files.

I haven't noticed any problems in my statistics...which would mean, like Stephan said, check your logs and stats.

of course I checked stats. no one was linking my site (and it's not possible since my site hasn't opened yet and only 2~3 people knows the url)

Today, my bandwidth usage became over 50 mb. (it was around 30mb yesterday) I believe what customer support told me. But, I just wondering if this bandwidth usage is true,
how does any adult website operate if they have 50000 visitors per day ? I thought 60gb is pretty enough since my website won't even host
any movie files.

As I explained before, I just started a hosting here two weeks ago and two people been making a site so far. And on one knows about this site yet.

I just like to know if this is normal ?

my site is almost ready to open but I'm afraid to
open because of this. If this rate is correct,
my site will be closed in 2~3 days.

Plz gimme some tips and info guys...

thanx

Please e-mail me your site's address so that I can take a look at it.

Maybe I will find some huge file or something, it's worth a try!

(In your logs I will come up as something.tiscali.something)

Well, your site doesn't seem to have anything on it which uses up a lot of bandwidth,  it does have a lot of pictures, but they are small.

Login to your CPanel and download the "raw access log". Use something like winrar to decompress it, then a log file analysis tool to analyse it. There has to be a reason.

The software you need is available on www.download.com

This method will show you exactly what is going on.
