Starting July 18th, the format for the IP addresses changed in the access logs for my web sites.  Instead of just the IP address of the entity accessing my web site, url resolution information was put into the string.  Now the IP address is being left out completely, such as:

crawl3.majestic12.co.uk

or

crawl-66-249-67-140.googlebot.com - -

Why has this changed and is there a way to get just the previously normal IP address?  I use the IP address for any number of things and just that resolved address like in my first example is pretty useless.

The problem was me.  I had a typo where I had mistakenly added a comma when I meant to add a period (dot) to a file and as a result was causing a hostname lookup rather than the usual IP address being put in the logs.

Thank you very much to customer support for tracking this down and letting me know what the problem was!
