Trying to figure out how to create a website icon - -meaning when someone bookmarks your page, it creates an icon for them.

Make a file called favicon.ico with an icon editor.

Save it in the root directory of your website.

Then when you bookmark it, it should appear.

PNG2ICO will convert a 16x16 PNG image to ICO  format. It is free. Save it in your root directory and add this to the HEAD section of your HTML file:
