ftp can not connect to ftp.gis6.com, Can't read from control socket. Socket error = #10054.   


Using CuteFTP to connect to ftp.gis6.com or gis6.com:

I checked, and was able to connect from my location without issue.

A successful connection would give you a response of :

at which point you would put in your FTP username and password.

If you are not able to connect and see this, a ping doesnt really give much information.   You will need to try doing a traceroute to insure you are reaching the server, and that there may not be an issue between your location and the server that is causing the issue.

To do this, from a cmd prompt type in:

tracert www.gis6.com

If you continue to have issues, you will want to contact support (support@lunarpages.com or support.lunarpages.com) and provide the following:

1. Your location
2. Url to this forum post
3. IP address (go to www.whatismyip.com)
4. FTP program used
5. Refults of traceroute
