Ok need a little assistance!

Here's the problem.  My customer owns a domain here.  Except it is forwarded to a tripod member site right now, which is now taken over by his ex-girlfriend.  Therefore his business site is now showing a child's website that he cannot stop.  Therefore, since he owns the domain, I am trying to figure out a way to forward it to his own member site at tripod.

I have tried contacting Optisoft and Lunar, but have hit a dead end.

Can anyone help me out here.  His business is struggling due to this.

Thanks!

Your best bet is to go to the company he registered the domain with, and adjust what it points to. They are the ones that ultimately decide where it goes. Lunar, Tripod and others have no control over this. They just receieve traffic that comes from the domains.

If he is paying for service a tripod, recommend to him to take a look at what lunarpages offers. Real domain hosting (no forwarding etc), and cheap on top of it all! But quality service, and options!

Good luck ;-)

That's the problem.  I logged into the domain here at lunar pages, and there is no way to forward it to a new address.  And the old ex-girl/web designer is no help at letting me know how it was done to begin with.

Do you know how she managed to redirect it to a tripod member site?

Are you sure its being redirected there, and not directly through the domain?

Try this:

(you will need to know what server its hosted on here are lunarpages).

http://servername.lunarpages.com/~username/

username is his login name for lunarpages Cpanel.

If that brings up his site, then the problem is with teh registrar, if that brings up her site, then the problem is on lunar pages.

You might want to clarify this one first!

I have to get goign in a sec, so incase I dont get your response and its a prob on lunarpages end,

goto CPanel, scroll down to the bottom of the list of option. See the -> white border arrow that says redirects under it? Click that, and see if there are any entries under that.

If its not in there, it might be in the .htaccess file, but if its in there, than it must have been a bad breakup, cause thats pretty intentional!

Take a look at the redirects option first though.

If it's the domain itself and not a subdomain, then you'll have to contact the registrar.

If you don't see your home page being redirected in CPanel under Redirects, check the page itself.

Look in the HEAD section for anything that says "Location" or window and the url that it's pointing to.  It may be a META refresh tag, or it could be javascript or php.
