Hi,

I was thinking about moving my site (http://www.gamedeli.com) to be hosted here, but I had a few questions.

1) How are WAR files supported? Can you supply a WAR file for a subdomain?

2)What is the cost for a private JVM? I couldn't find this on the site.

3) How much RAM is available for the JVM?

4) What libraries are pre-loaded? (Xerces, Xalan, SAX2, JDBC drivers etc..?)

5) Do you still have access to the MS Frontpage extensions with Java web apps?

5) Can you host multiple domains with a single account? What is the additional cost?

Thanks!

Sorry, I don't know what a WAR file is.
If it is just a normal file, then yes, because you can put any kind of file you like on lunarpages (as long as it's not illegal).

A JVM is free.

I'm not sure about the RAM.

JDBC is provided, I'm not sure about the rest.

You can have multiple domains for one account at no extra cost.

I can't help with all your questions, but someone else will reply to this soon and add on the answers!

WAR Files

Lunarpages uses the Resin server which is capable of deploying WAR files (when activated on an account). All the user need do is upload the WAR file, when Resin detects the WAR file it will automatically extract and configure it.

Frontpage Extensions

All accounts have the Frontpage Extensions.

Private JVM

A private JVM is not yet "officially" available, but if you email support@lunarpages.com they will probably be able to arrange something. I would like to point out that the Resin server automatically detects changes in the web-app configuration without the need to be restarted.

You must understand that Lunarpages just recently moved to the Resin server, from what I understand these features will probably be offered to users (v. soon!) once they sort out some of the technical aspects; e.g. there is no point in having a private JVM if you can't restart it, so they must develop a secure way of allowing you to do this.

Hopefully Max can enlighten you more about this.
