Hey guys, been an LP customer for a few years.  Due to some problems with our forum, I am doing a fresh install of phpbbv3.  Didn't take long before I came across something I did not know.

It says this:

In order to proceed, you will need your database settings. If you do not know your database settings, please contact your host and ask for them. You will not be able to continue without them. You need:

    * The Database Type - the database you will be using.
    * The Database server hostname or DSN - the address of the database server.
    * The Database server port - the port of the database server (most of the time this is not needed).
    * The Database name - the name of the database on the server.
    * The Database username and Database password - the login data to access the database.

I'm kindof confused where to get this info.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Hey
When installing a new forum you would also need a new database and username for it.
There are two possible configurations. If you are a cPanel user this article will help you create a database and assign a user to it: http://wiki.lunarpages.com/Setup_MySQL_Databases
If you are on a LPCP server then you should review http://wiki.lunarpages.com/Create_and_Delete_MySQL_Users_in_LPCP
Regarding the database type, it will always be MySQL while the hostname should be "localhost" for cPanel accounts. If you are on LPCP then you would need to log in your LPCP account and you would find the database server on the right informational menu next to "DB Server"
As for the username, database name and password, they will be the ones you have already created.
If still unsure send a question at support@lunarpages.com with your username, and server and some of my colleagues will provide you with assistance.
