hi,  i cleaned up some hotlink code in my htaccess file and the only thing left other than the error pages is one line that says  (mod rewrite on)...   can i leave that line, what does it do, or can i remove it safely without any affect on the site.. thanks..

That is often used to setup a domain name redirect, so if you need to redirect links - I would suggest you keep it in there.
