When I had this program to work with phpBB called easymod, it created un-deleteable files (they were under the wrong user). If I create the files beforehand and it just edits them instead of creating, will it work? Can I do this?

Hello,

I'm not sure about this.  It's a hack for phpbb?

Doing what you said should work.  The thing is, how will you set the files?  world-read, world-write?  Will you be able to change them back to 644 when its done, or does it need to continue accessing the files?  BTW, I'm pretty sure you can delete "sticky" files in the file manager of your CPanel.

answer 1: yes, it is a 'hack' -- it makes changing phpbb files easier.

answer 2: it does not need to continue accessing the files... in fact, I should probably delete them... THAT IS WHY I AM DOING THIS...

You did try accessing them through your CP (file manager)?

Even try uploading files with the same name, with your main account, then CHMOD 777 (if they'll let you after overwriting them) then delete them.
