Hopefully someone else has had this same problem before, and can help me.

I have been trying unsuccessfully to set up SquirrelMail as a webmail interface to my domain. I used the following settings:

IMAP server: localhost/mail.domain.com/galaxy.lunarpages.com
IMAP port:143

None of the above server settings work. I get the error message which is equivalent to not being able to connect to the IMAP server.

Anything else I could try? Or am I missing something obvious?

Thanks,
Rahul

I've never tried setting something like that up before.. but I think I see what might be a big problem with those settings:

change the server to:
localhost/galaxy.lunarpages.com

I think you just forgot to get rid of the helper text (mail.domain.com) when you did those settings.

Give that a try, but like I said.. I've never installed that before, but that might just help you!

Try just yourdomain.com

I had problems setting up my email account in Outlook based on the instructions in the control panel manual. It said to use mail.yourdomain.com but that didn't work for me... when I removed the "mail." it worked.

I think you misunderstood my message above. I meant I tried all of the following, one at a time:

localhost
mail.genebrew.com
galaxy.lunaropages.com
genebrew.com

The last one was after reading LunarOrbit's post. Funnily enough, both mail.domain.com and galaxy.lunarpages.com work fine when I use a mail client such as Outlook Express or Mozilla Mail.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Rahul
