I'd like to better understand how viewers are using my new site.  Do they see one page and exit?  How much time is spent on each page?  In what order do they see each page?  What tools/scripts are available to report this data in a useful format?

Any advice would be appreciated greatly.

You can click on the stats link in your cpanel.  Webalizer shows you entry pages, exit pages, where hits came from, etc.  It's a good statistics system.

I agree with everything you wrote, but I don't think Webalizer tells me the entire story.  It provides important totals such as the % of referrals from Google.  But I'm trying to learn the path that each visitor is taking when
they get to my site, and create reports that I can print.  I'd like to get to the data that Webalizer obtains to create its reports about totals.  Any suggestion re a tool/package, or must I write my own program to report the raw data in a useful format?  Perhaps I need advice on the appropriate way to use Webalizer...    Thanks.

Ok, it shows referrals but I figure you want to track a user through your site.  There's a tracking script from Fluid Dynamics I use to do just that.  It's free, and I think it's quite nice.  You can get it at http://www.xav.com/axs/   Take a look at:

There's only two pages tracked, but you can track every page on your site if you like.

Thanks.  That is very much what I'm looking for.  But this raises another question.  I need to keep my site statistics confidential.  If I was able to access your statistics via the a.m. URL, how can I prevent others from viewing my site data?
