Well I've enabled SPAMASSASIN, and it has been picking out (with an extremely high rate of success) the junk e-mail that finds it's way to my inbox. But is there a way to just dump the e-mails that Spamassasin identifies on the server side? I'd rather not have to even see the mails that Spamassasin identifies as Spam, I already know they're spam.

I've been manually configuring filters to handle individual unwanted e-mails, but I'd rather have a more automatic method, so that the unwated message never make it to my inbox.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

http://www.mailwasher.net

It deletes emails directly off the server before it is downloaded. Or you can set it to bounce the email back to the sender so it seems like your address is not valid. And best of all its free unless you want the pro version...

Oops, probably should've mentioned we use all Macs (which is why I'm looking for more of server-side solution.

You should be able to configure a filter (click on block email) that will send anything that is listed as having spam in it (There are several hearers, one is a Spam = YES header). I would personally not recommend doing someting like this, as you will be risking loosing possibly crucial communications! If you do, I would set it up so that it would only auto toss anything with a rating of 8 or higher (Which would cover all the blatently obvious spam, and still deliver all the quesitonable stuff to you).

I would like to second the "MailWasher" recommendation.  It is now available through Firetrust:

http://www.firetrust.com/

You don't accidentally delete valid e-mail, but you don't have to download anything either.  You can view the subject lines and senders, which is usually sufficient for knowing which messages to delete.  Any questionable messages can be previewed, again without downloading.  Then you decide which messages to delete, bounce (send a fake "no such e-mail address" message to), and/or blacklist.  Then hit "Process Mail".  MailWasher will get rid of everything you don't want.  When it's done, it will open up your e-mail utility, and you can download only what's left.

I love it; it's been a real life-saver for me.
