Type the hostname or IP address of your main OS in the browser of the virtual machine or other computer on your LAN.

Just keep in mind that the IP address 127.0.0.1 is "special". It is the "loopback" IP address and is only usable on that machine. I.e., each computer has its own 127.0.0.1 and you can't get to another computer via that address. Beyond that, with routers, switches, multiple interface cards, virtual machines (e.g., VMware), etc., I'm sure it can get quite complicated (and I'm certainly no authority on the subject).

P.S. Have you read through the "pinned" topics on the PHP & MySQL board? Several of them discuss the care and feeding of local servers, and might give you some hints.
