My web is a phpwebsite, and currently I am having problem to upload video files (ad clips). I did all the file type setting as instructed by phpwebsite, no matter whether it is a mp4, mpeg, or flv file, the system keeps blocking with a message: "unacceptable multimedia file type"!
Is there a possibility that the server does not recognize the file types set by the web script? Or any restriction on file types by the server?

When you get this error message, where exactly are you receiving it? Via the script you are using, cPanel, FTP?  Let us know and we'd be happy to help you trouble shoot your problem here.

Thank you. I upload the file through the File Cabinet mod in control panel of phpwebsite. The error comes few seconds after I click "upload".

Very odd, might check the permissions of the folders to make sure you can write to them and any internal options inside of the mod and script that would allow you to set which media types are allowed.  Doing a Google search really didn't turn up anything but more questions thus far.

File cabinet has a setting page to sellect file types to allow, and I did set it. I have also checked the file size limit. I have cleared all the cache and temp, and have waited over 24hrs for the setting to take effect.
I think folder permission is not a problem as I can upload pdf files.

Anybody could ever get multimedia files (flv, mpeg, mp4...) to play at Lunarpages? Is mine an isolated case or is this the server restriction policy? Thanks.

I think this is more of a problem with the script rather than the hosting side of things.  Can you FTP and upload media content to the server side and have it play?

That is the last choice because it involves script work on every page and a lot of time, and I am not good at scripting anyway.

I would suggest going to the script creator and see if they can suggest something you may need to look into.  If they give you any suggestions for us as far as things to look into, let us know here and we'd be happy to do so.
