Hello!

I was wondering if you could guide me in the right direction.

I am a photographer and I am trying to figure out a way to set up a box on my website www.studiodouglas.is where clients can enter their password to access their proofs so that each password entered opens up a different page.

Up until now I have put a link on my site to each client website and password protected the folder in the lunarpages control panel. You can see this by clicking on "myndir" (photos) and then "smelliš hér fyrir lęst svęši višskiptavina" (click here for client area). I would prefer to have just one box for all passwords and each password deciding which page opens instead of the endless links. I hope I am making myself understood!

This photographer has what I'm after (although this is a flash site), if you enter the site and click on "clients": http://www.bluecandyphotography.com/
Lots of other photographers use this kind of password box but I couldn't find any other examples just now.

I used Dreamweaver (and CSS) for my site but I make the client web galleries with Photoshop CS (Automate - web photo gallery) and then link to them from within my website. My dad told me I probably needed some kind of Java script but I've got no idea what that is.... I'm fairly competent at figuring new things out with the right guidance Wink

I hope you can help Smile
Thanks!
Anna

I would say the easiest way is the way you have in place now, giving each person their own folder and then password protecting the folder.  Anything past that, you might need some sort of CMS script in place for management.  Might search around Hotscripts.com and I'll let you know if I find anything that sounds like what you are looking for.

Thanks Mitch.
I've just been browsing for scripts myself and found this http://www.htmliseasy.com/keeper/
Am thinking of trying Gatekeeper 1, haven't even looked at 2 and 3 as 1 sounds like what I'm after....
Will let you know if this works out ok Wink
Thanks again,
Anna
