Ok, i think this could be a fun thread, and very informative to some. What are your favorite tools of the trade? I'll start. Computer side: Frontpage " It's the first program i used to create a webpage, so I've stuck with it over the years " Photoshop CS2 " Like frontpage, it's the first and only photo editor that i ever used. " My Digital cameras " of course i can't live without the cameras" Web side: Coppermine Photo Gallery ( http://coppermine-gallery.net/index.php) "currently the gallery program i like best" snippitmaster ( http://www.snippetmaster.com/index.php) "this is a cool program for client's websites, that allows them to edit their own content on static pages" Everybody else's turn. I've gotta have my Dreamweaver! I completely prefer Photoshop and Illustrator over Fireworks and Freehand.
And now that I switched to InDesign from Quark 4, I completely prefer InDesign for page-layout.
Site stats: I prefer Google Analytics over webalyzer or analog.
Pay-per-click: I prefer Google Adwords over Yahoo Search Marketing, but now that Yahoo upgraded to a format similar to Google Adwords, they seem to be at par.
I like Javascripts for their abundance on the web, but I would prefer to code more in PHP for server-side code, instead of browser-side code.
And for managing Email, I still prefer Eudora over anything else. (but only tried Outlook and Thunderbird as alternatives) You can search through as many mail boxes/accounts as you need at one time, and the search is fast.

Oh I use bunches of stuff, but if you want the two main ones it would have to be NotePad Pro (for HTML/CSS/code editing and writing articles/posts) and Firefox.

Hmm, let's see... Dreamweaver MX/Nvu for HTML & code work (Depends on whether I'm running the Linux side or the Windows side. Photoshop/Fireworks MX/GIMP for image editing Firefox/IE7 for testing sites Thunderbird for email Trillian/Gaim for instant message apps Filezilla/gFTP for File Transfer duties There are others but this should be a fair assessment of my "toolbox".

Dreamweaver MX - ok I dont like the newer versions, for editing files and ftp. Paint Shop Pro 7 - Why buy a new one when the old does all I need. Animation shop 3 - Read above Wordpad - for editing database files mainly (ya the hard way but I like it) IE and Firefox - As a web developer, should allways test in two browsers at least
Windows Vista - Dont ask, I wont tell. Windows xp - Ubuntu - Mac OS 10 - all for testing on different systems.
Of course, I use a lot of other programs, but these are mainly for testing others stuff when its not working.

For Mac OSX, Panic Software introduced 'Coda'. Looks to be a direct competitor to Dreamweaver, plus it has a terminal window to ssh into your server (I find myself doing daily).
Has anyone tried this out? If so, what do you think?
I'm going to install this later today on my Mac and see how it performs.

Hmm.. well me im an odd one. Any one ever use Transmit? Love that thing. For all coding I either use Transmits built in text editor, TextEdit or open it in BBEdit (for when I have huge php files with lots of functions for quick navigating through them. I use Adobe photoshop 7 (Old skool here) for images. I do have studio 8 but rarely do I use it. I leave it on my other computers though for use there for the rest of my family.
ReTodd, I don't have 10.4 and 10.5 comes out in October (hopefully) so I will try it then when I have it.
