I am running a photography forum with SMF. I am going to change my cable system provider from one company to another. This will happen this Thursday. What do I need to do to keep my site updated with the proper email, change, to not have my site affected. I haven't done this for years and need to know how to do this with the CP and the site without screwing up.

Well all you need to do is update your profile and settings with your new email address and that should do it.

If you are referring to the hosting account itself, you can update your email address in your CAP (Customer Account Page) at http://account.lunarpages.com. Once logged in, click on the "My Accounts" tab and you should be able to edit your email address there.

Actually, with apologies for not being on the forum enough, I run an smf forum and have my old email address on the smf forum itself and need to change it from my CP here; I think?. I tried this once , I believe from my forum and cut the forum off from the net. I think I have to make the changes from the file manager here on LP. It's been around 5 years and I cannot remember the procedures on CP as it has changed and I can't find my way through the new, to me, format. I am out of country a lot and just retired and need to get my photo site up and running again. Thank you LP for all the help over the years of my being here and gone again.

If you are trying to change the email settings in SMF, login to the admin section of SMF then go to Configuration, Server settings, feature configuration tab, SMTP server, username, and password.

I did that before and took my forum off line. I know it needs to be done with the php on the file manager, or, do I? Isn't the server the place I have to start?

The info I gave is correct. Please follow the instructions given to change the forum email settings.
