Author Topic: Can you recommend a CMS for image thumbnails and before next pic pages  (Read 721 times)

My current web site is at www.ericmauro.com. In it you see that I have a link to paintings which I hand coded to do previous - next links. I would like to be able to more easily add images so I don't have to redo all the links etc, because my new images should go in first.

Also I would like to be able to make my image set browsable by a thumbnail page.

I would like both of these things to generate the pages automatically when I drop the images and descriptions into a database. Is there any CMS that comes with lunarpages that has this built in?

Thanks for the reply, I checked out http://www.judithvanbilderbeek.nl/ and it's kind of what I'm looking for. 

It's all in Dutch of course so I can't figure out what in da heck does what, but I suppose things are linked up right.

On e question I had from their features page:

automatic thumbnail generation (requires: ImageMagick, GD or NetPBM)

What are those things and does lunarpages have them or something that works like them?

You should be able to login to your control panel, and then install this via the Fantastico link.  I would suggest setting it up and seeing if it is something you could see yourself using.  I think this might be the easiest way for you to get things done.  All you need to worry about is the content - and the management and design is all taken care of by the 4images script.

You might also take a look at some of the alternatives like Coppermine as well.  With this one, you would need to install it yourself - but it is another nice alternative.
