Hi!  I have searched the forums and have spoken with the Help Desk and still have some questions.  I would like to change my current domain (which is a .ca) to my new domain (which is a .com).  Of course, I'd like to do this the easiest way possible.  LP has said they can simply change the domain name on the account to the new .com name.  What I don't know however, if this is accomplished using a 301 redirect or whether visitors going to my old site will simply be told 'no page found'.  I don't want to lose the traffic and pagerank I've worked so hard at getting.  Any suggestions?

Currently I have the new .com domain as an add on domain.  I was originally planning to just copy the whole site into the subdomain and redirect .ca to .com.  However, I don't think you can redirect a site to itself, as you are essentially creating a loop.

Any advice?

Hmm, well once is all said and done are you still going to wish to use both domains or just the .com domain?

I'd like to keep both domains around for 3-4 months and then shut down the .ca...
