I am looking for link tracking service recommendations.  I am looking at LinkTrakr and Backlink Reporter.  Any thoughts?

Try backlinkreporter.com where you will find various features from reporting to tracking back links whether it is still alive or not. Hope, it will help you a lot.

I am not aware about this tools so far. I was using backlinkwatch.com to get generalize idea about my existing backlinks or competitors backlinks.

I will try any of the tool but first I would like to try any free tool if available the kindly share.

there are plenty of tools available one from link-assistant which is SEO spy glass to observe the different pattern used for link building by your competitors on selected keywords and another one is SEMRush to observe the traffic your competitors get.
