Is it possible to access the file manager on cpanel using Lunarpages Quicksite? I don't see the option, but I'd like to add a favicon, but can't find a way to access the file manger.

Thanks.

When you have created the fevicon which you want t o show on your website than you should name the file as "fevicon.ico". Now all you have to do is upload the favicon.ico image  to your website root directory. The root directory is the main folder where all your files reside at, like your main index page. Some hosting companies will provide a directory called "html" or "public" or "web" "public_html". You MUST upload to your website root directory, otherwise, your browser will look for the favicon.ico image, will not find it and it will not display it on your browser.

put the following HTML code in between your <head> tags with the follwowing code:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" />

Now that you have uploaded to your root directory, you are done.

The <link> tag is unnecessary if
1. The file name is favicon.ico (exactly that name)
2. It is ICON format (and not .gif or .jpg renamed to .ico!)
3. It is in the site root /

I'm not familiar with Quicksite, so I can't tell you if/how to upload a file to your site. Presumably there is a way to use either FTP access or some kind of file manager.

This is actually quite simple to do, if you have access to the header.php file or have options to insert META Tags threw your admin backend, simply insert this META Tag in the <head> area of your website (usually around the area you have your META description and keywords)

<link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="favicon.ico" />

If you need any further assistance please feel free to message Smile

1. Convert the image you want to use to 16x16 or 32x32 .ico file.. I used this tool for conversion.. Also you should read this article before deciding which resolution or file type to use..

     2. Upload the file to an image hosting site or any other place that you can get a direct link to the file.. I used Windows Live SkyDrive for this step after realizing that ImageShack's uploader doesn't support .ico files.. Although it seems you can upload from their website..

     3. Go to your blog > Design > Edit HTML and find the code below..

       <title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>

     4. After this line add the code below and save it.. (qwerty is the direct link to your .ico file)

       <link href='qwerty' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/x-icon'/>

 They already told you how to put it. And here you can find some links about how to create favicons:
