Hi guys,

I am in the process of moving my site to Lunarpages, which includes moving our existing Sql Server DB.
I got a decent hosting plan here, got the guys from the support team to create a testing subdomain (I want to make sure everything is working fine before I hit the switch for good), but have hit the trouble in moving my database across - which is the heart of the website!

I went to plesk, clicked on Create new database and checked the "restore from back up" option and entered all appropriate details. The BAK file is quite big, so I made sure the "Loading in progress" was ticking, went to bed and in the morning found the "Log in " page of the Plesk on the screen, no database created - no other message displayed. Just like nothing has happened.

So - please help. How on earth do I move my DB across? Is there any other way? Should I create an empty DB and somehow FTP my BAK file and restore it from LP's local drive (if that is possible) or any other way??

You need to use MyLittleAdmin to restore the database. What server are you on or what is your primary domain name? How big is the file you are restoring?

I am using Plesk to upload BAK file and restore from there. The BAK file is around 85 megs. I just realised that my session times-out before the upload is done. I will try using MyLittleAdmin, but not sure if this will fix it.

Can I make sessions longer at least?

BTW, this has been resolved. Left it all night and worked nicely in MyLittleAdmin
