There are a lot of good ways to get yourself out there.  I think you covered the basics with the social bookmarks, blog submission sites and comments.  Just remember with blog submission sites that they are a respectable place and not a link farm as that might do you more harm than good with Google.

Might also look into StumbleUpon, have gotten a lot of good results (and traffic) from there.
