Hi, i have been working on this for well over a week now and i just cant seem to get this to work...  What im trying to do is when a member registers, i want to call a php file using javascript and inside that php file it opens another database and increments a value then closes....

i have the javascript command in the registration php file but it will not write to the new db when executes the file... is this because you cant have two db open at once or what...

here is the process i have, but its not working...

it calls the php file (using javascript) that belongs to another peice of software located in the same domain.
that called php file uses its own includes to set the database open
then that php file writes the new value to the new database
then it closes and thats it....

is there a better way... what am i missing   i have tried setting up a $link script to test but still does not work...

i finally got it working, figures after 3 weeks and i finally ask for help, the solution came to me... its that the way it always works out.. lol  Roll

the problem was the way i was grabbing the cookie and also the var i was using was being reset by another file that i didnt catch..   Applause

if anyone needs a good affiliate program for their website i have one now.  the software is free (open source) but ill have to charge a small fee to set it up for ya if you want, because i had to make a bunch of fixes to get it to work the way i wanted.

it counts new visits
it counts repeat visits (unique)
and if someone registers on your site it will give the affiliate credit for that.
i pay on registrations not upgrades.
i still have some minor details to do mostly visual.. but im happy i finally got it working the way i want...

if you want it shoot me a pm as i may not see your reply here for a bit... thanks
