Hi all,

My website is down due to 500 internal server error. http://www.myucl.com/index.php
Any idea why?  Confused I have contacted support but haven't heard anything from them for 12 hours..

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@myucl.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.0.63 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.63 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_fcgid/2.3.5 Server at www.myucl.com Port 80

Thanks

The first thing I would suggest is to make yourself a set of error handlers (error pages, error documents). cPanel has a button to do this; I don't know what LPCP has. See http://www.catskilltech.com/freeSW/SMF/faqs/ > Missing Support Files. At least that will stop cluttering up your error log with missing xxx.shtml file entries.

Now, I see the remaining errors seem to be that someone is trying to run /opt/suphp/sbin/suphp. I wouldn't think that LP would allow you to do so. What software are you running that requires this? Is it configured correctly? There is a copy of "suphp" at that address, but perhaps you aren't allowed to run it. There also appears to be a copy at /usr/local/sbin/suphp -- maybe you would have permission to run that one. On my server, both have permissions rwsr-xr-x, which I think you can run as an ordinary user (but I won't swear to it).

Was your forum working before, and if so, what did you change? If it never has worked, perhaps this desire to run "suphp" is at the heart of the problem. Either way, it sounds like a configuration problem to me. If it was working before and you didn't change anything (and you weren't hacked), maybe LP changed something? Only support will be able to tell you for sure.

BTW, if you opened a ticket via email or the help desk, you should have received an acknowledgment and ticket number within minutes.
