How quickly can you describe the web site you are hosting here with us? Can you do it in, let's say 35 words or less? As today's exercise, I'd like to put you to the test. Reply to this post, and give me a description of your web site, in a nutshell. You have to use 35 words or less. Why is this something important to be able to do?
You need to be able to describe what you do quickly, to potential visitors, clients or customers. Being able to shortly define yourself means that your web site is focus enough to be a dependable resource for the niche or idea it is you cover.
Here's an example:The Lunarics blog is a digital growing guide, for Lunarpages customers, that helps you learn more about the worlds of web hosting and web development. That is
25 words. In it you know the name of the resource, who it is aimed for and what it is there for. You can almost think of this as a mission statement for what your web site promises to deliver. If you have trouble with this exercise, it might be that your web site is trying to cover too many bases at once. Try focusing on your most important aspects.
I hope you all get something out of this new type of post here on the Lunarforums. I invite everybody to give it a shot, and reply with your results. If we get enough positive feedback from this, I might have to come up with more "Website Workshop" type exercises that we can all do to improve our web sites on the Web.
