this is what i want to do.

ORDER WINDOWS SHARED PLAN.

make a simple PHP website For my small game server for just 5 of my friends.

i will setup the php website and it will be connecting to my HOME server database ( I WILL NOT USE ANY DATABASE IN LUNARPAGES, I WILL JUST BE USING THE WEB SERVER, )
besically all i'm using will be the webserver. i won't even touch the MSSQL, MYSQL in lunarpages.

" **Remote MSSQL connections are not allowed. "

does this means no outside connecting to lunarpages database? or just ALL no connecting to outside or inside database.

SITE ( LUNARPAGES )  DATABASE ( HOME )

SITE CONNECTS TO HOME DATABASE TO PULL INFORMATION.

I do not think this is going to be allowed, however I would highly suggest that you send a full list of requirements to sales@lunarpages.com (or submit a help desk ticket in to our sales department) so that you can double check with them.  Thanks!

Give me your ticket number here, and I'll get you a definite answer from one of the Windows server gurus.

Ticket #1545303

BTW .

i'm going to order " WINDOWS SHARED PLAN "

and what i'm basically want to do is.

use ONLY lunarpages webserver to open a site. then use the site to connect to a " already setup " database outside lunarpages, to pull and read data.

i am not and will not be connecting a site into lunarpages database.

do you get me?

Ok, checked with the support team - and looks like via the ticket, they thought you meant the other way around.  Talked with one of our Windows guys, and they said this would be allowed.  You would need to make sure the server is named properly and you have port 3306 open on your end.  There are no restrictions that I know of on outgoing connections.

Hope that helps!

Hello,

You would be able to connect to any remote database outside (from the IIS) if you are going to use the IIS only; the ports are open for outgoing connections.
