I have tried various ways to run "something" in Plesk's Scheduler, but, can't seem to get a script to run successfully (I have set it up to send me a notification email, but, I have never received one).  I have decided that I would like to use Powershell as the scripting language for automated tasks on my shared Windows hosting plan.  Does Lunarpages support Powershell?  If Lunarpages does support Powershell, how do I setup the Scheduler parameters?  I think that the script language (engine?) is supposed to be put into the "path to executable file" and the actual script file is supposed to be put into the "arguments".  My most recent script was a single line that assigned a value to a variable, but, even that didn't generate the notification email.  So, I am obviously not even getting the most basic parameters setup correctly.  Can somebody please tell me how I can get Scheduler to run a Powershell (or any) script?

According to Lunarpages tech support on April 17, 2010:

PowerShell scripts are not supported on the shared Windows servers at this time.  If you require using PowerShell, you may want to look into using a VPS or Dedicated Windows hosting server.

Hello,

Actually we are very concerned about the security of the shared windows servers, we have a policy of not installing any 3rd party application nor enabling any feature which could put a threat to other clients hosted on / using the same shared server so the only option you have is to upgrade to a VPS or a Dedicated server and you will be able to play with it as you please; because that would be only yours.

Microsoft Powershell is part of Windows Updates so will get uninstalled unless you untick it. Don't worry, it's not spyware or a virus if that's what you're worried about it.
